Resort Guests Will Enjoy Bocce Courts, Lawn Games, Backyard Barbeque Family Cookouts and Cooking Classes
NORTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – June 28, 2013 – Summer in Lake Tahoe keeps getting better. The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe welcomes the return of one of the region’s favorite seasons with new weekly experiences and outdoor activities geared toward guests of all ages. “Summer is a popular time to visit Lake Tahoe, and while our guests are with us, we want them to not only have an opportunity to relax, but to know that there are experiences right here at the resort for them to enjoy,” said Joseph Mattioli, general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe. “Whether they prefer to do things on their own, or would like to be guided through an interactive experience by our Ladies and Gentlemen, we’re pleased to welcome them to the mountains and help them unwind.” From Yappy Hour al fresco dining on the Backyard Terrace with four-legged family members, to interactive cooking classes, lawn games, and guided daily hikes, options abound for resort guests.
Mountainside Pool Cabanas
To make the mountainside pool experience even more relaxing, the resort is adding poolside cabanas that include personalized service for up to four people. These new chic cabanas can be reserved for the day and will offer guests a relaxing retreat complete with the signature service of The Ritz-Carlton.
Outdoor Games in The Backyard
Oversized versions of popular games including Jenga and Connect Four, as well as traditional games of croquet and cornhole will be offered on The Meadows throughout the season. A new bocce ball court opened earlier this month in the woods near the Backyard Terrace for guests to enjoy.
Water Activities on Nearby Lake Tahoe
Resort guests can also experience activities on Lake Tahoe such as exploring the shoreline from the unique perspective of a kayak or stand up paddleboard through Tahoe Adventure Company. Guides lead high quality adventure travel trips, providing instruction and tours that focus on experiencing the natural beauty of the mountains, trails and clear water of Lake Tahoe. Kayak tours will take guests to iconic destinations on the lake including the Thunderbird Lodge and Sand Harbor.
On Mountain Sports
Guided hikes are also offered daily at the resort, providing an educational way to experience the local flora and fauna on the mountain at Northstar California. Biking tours will also be available through Tahoe Adventure Company following the Truckee River bike path and on single-track mountain biking trails. Guests new to mountain biking can join the daily Bike 101 activity at Northstar California to learn all of the basic skills needed to enjoy the mountain biking park right out the back of the resort.
Tahoe Star Tours
Offered on select dates over the summer season, Tahoe Star Tours will provide guests with a unique experience to enjoy Accent, the Reno, Nevada based chamber music ensemble comprised of highly trained local artists. Tahoe Star Tours featuring Accent string quartet are offered July 6, July 27 and August 17, with the artists performing live in the Butterfly Lounge at The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe.
