As “keeping attendees interested and energized” is one of the top concerns cited by meeting planners, The Ritz-Carlton, Key Biscayne launched a new Brain Break meeting package program, which incorporates nutritional, spiritual and physical elements and includes stair steppers and stationary bikes in the back of meeting rooms for attendees to get a quick burst of energy to carry them through the day.
Meeting participants start their morning with a sunrise, oceanfront Sun Salutation on the beach by a certified yoga instructor, who then returns to lead the group in gentle stretching and breathing to ward off post-lunch doldrums. To combat drowsiness, attendees can hop on a stationary bike or stepper, which are placed throughout the back of meeting rooms. Heavy carbs are replaced with healthy snacks including granola and energy bars, trail mix combinations, frozen yogurt and fruit, which are all accompanied by spring and vitamin waters and green teas to energize the mind and stimulate creativity.
“Retreats are extremely important to companies and associations, as they provide rare opportunities to gather the best minds across the organization into one place to strategize, train, and interact with fellow employees across the state, country or globe,” say Derek Flint, general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Key Biscayne. “We see the Brain Break package as a way to maximize participant engagement and productivity over this valuable time period, and ultimately contribute to a successful meeting.”
The Brain Break meeting package is $18 per person and $150 per yoga instructor (recommend one instructor per 25 guests). Package add-ons including Wii Fit stations in meeting break areas and spa teasers in-between presentations are available for additional fees.
