Boston, MA – September 30, 2013 - It's fall in New England. One of the most stunning times of the calendar year. When vibrant colors pop all around, when crisp autumn temperatures bring out layers of fall fashion and when guests visiting New England think about the delicious, fresh flavors of apples, from Mcinstosh to Cortlands to Baldwins and Roxbury Russets.
In honor of one of autumn's time-honored traditions - picking apples with family and friends – The Ritz-Carlton, Boston Common gets to the "core" of the season with a 'pop-up apple orchard' in Artisan Bistro so guests can enjoy the ‘fruits’ and flavors of the season, without having to drive miles away from the hotel.
“Our pop up apple orchard was created with our guests and residents in mind,” says Executive Chef Andrew Yeo. “Our hope was to bring the flavors and experiences of apple picking to those who are visiting and living here in Boston. Not everyone has the time or access to visit a neighboring orchard, so we brought the elements of the orchard to The Ritz-Carlton. The appealing scents of mulled cider and cider donuts greet guests immediately as they enter Artisan Bistro. It’s an authentic seasonal welcome into the restaurant.”
On Saturdays from 12 Noon - 4 p.m., throughout the month of October, [October 5, 12, 19 and 26] the hotel opens the urban apple orchard in Artisan Bistro, where guests can enjoy cider donuts, caramel apples, mini apple streusel and Spiced Apple Cider Sangria for a taste of fall. Festive tins filled with these seasonal delights are available for purchase; a tin for two guests is $22.00; a tin for four guests is $38.00.
