Diana Oreck, Vice President, Global Learning and Leadership Center
Diana Oreck is Vice President, Global Learning & Leadership Center. She is responsible for setting the global internal learning strategy for the company’s 32,000 ladies and gentlemen around the world. She also oversees The Ritz-Carlton, Leadership Center – a Corporate University open to the public since the year 1999. The Leadership Center was created to provide opportunities to leadership and learning professionals from a variety of industries who are interested in benchmarking our human resources, leadership, quality and training practices that led to our two-time award of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in 1992 and 1999.

She brings over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry to her role. Under her leadership The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C. was named the best global Training Company in the world in 2007 as ranked by Training Magazine. Also in 2008, under her leadership, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C. was inducted into Training Magazine’s Top 10, Training Hall of Fame. In September 2008 Ms. Oreck was named one of the top 100+ people in Learning & Development by Leadership Excellence Magazine.

Ms. Oreck was previously Senior Vice President of Franchise Services for Westin Hotels & Resorts – North America (parent company Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc.) where she was responsible for all aspects of the Westin franchise portfolio including supervision of the new build or conversion process for all Westin franchise hotels and monitoring quality assurance and brand standard consistency issues.

She began her hotel career with Hyatt Hotels in Orlando. She then spent five years at the Waldorf=Astoria in New York in the positions of Director of Training, Quality Control Manager and Executive Assistant Manager. In 1990 she joined Interstate Hotels Corporation in Pittsburgh as Director of Quality Improvement where she was responsible for all aspects of guest satisfaction and Total Quality Management for 200 hotels. Ms. Oreck has also served as CEO for her own firm, The Quality Profit Control Company.  Ms. Oreck was educated in Mexico, England and Switzerland and received her degree in hotel studies from the Ecole Hoteliere in Lausanne, Switzerland.  She speaks three languages and is a member of the National Association for Female Executives. She was inducted into The Waldorf=Astoria Distinguished Alumni in 1998 and the Academy of Women Achievers in 1985. She currently sits on the Credit Suisse Business School Advisory Board and The Kingston Healthcare, Inc. Board.

Ms. Oreck is passionate about strategically linking Learning with the company’s business goals and objectives and ensuring Learning return on investment for the business.
