Our Succeed Through Service program, in partnership with the children’s advocacy organization, America’s Promise Alliance, is focused on helping children better prepare for college, work and life. The overarching goal of the curriculum is to help focus at-risk students on their potential, show them the value of giving back to their community, and help steer them towards a path of success.

The Succeed Through Service curriculum brings the students to our hotels and takes our employees into the classrooms. We are inspiring the children to embrace concepts such as hard work, commitment and a positive attitude and introducing them to valuable life skills. Throughout the school year our front desk and concierge employees teach students about the importance of social skills including eye-contact, a great smile and a firm handshake; restaurant teams demonstrate dining etiquette; chefs teach students about the importance of healthy eating habits and how to safely handle food; and our trainers coach students on effective collaboration and group presentation skills.

To introduce the students to the importance of giving back, we engage them in service-learning projects to benefit the local community, together tackling challenging issues including hunger and homelessness, child literacy and environmental conservation.
